Boston, MA—October 8, 2024—ECG Management Consultants, a national consulting firm focused exclusively on healthcare, welcomes Medical School Advisory Group (MSAG), led by Lois Margaret Nora, MD, expanding its Academic Healthcare (AHC) practice.
MSAG has supported medical schools through continuous quality improvement efforts, including accreditation, for more than 20 years. The move brings another dimension of experience to ECG’s AHC team, which has worked with nearly 90% of the nation’s medical schools throughout the firm’s 50-plus-year history.
“ECG and MSAG consultants have had mutual respect for each other’s work for many years,” explained Leah Gassett, a partner at ECG and leader of the firm’s AHC practice. “I am thrilled to be a part of combining our teams to create the most comprehensive medical education consulting practice in the country. Joining with Lois and her team elevates our collective offerings and amplifies the positive impact we can help our clients achieve in medical education and healthcare.”
MSAG helps medical schools navigate the complexity of the undergraduate medical education (UME) accreditation process, including accreditation planning, response to LCME concerns, continuous improvement planning, and leadership development. Dr. Nora, MSAG president, says that joining ECG gives her team an opportunity to expand that work.
“In the past few years, MSAG has been asked to consult on a broader span of issues in UME and extending into health sciences and the academic medical center,” Nora said. “Joining ECG puts our new combined team in a position to address any possible issue or opportunity spanning all aspects of medical education, research, and/or patient care.”
Nora noted that ECG’s mission and vision make the firm a good fit. “ECG’s values mirror the school-centered, mission-focused values of MSAG. I am proud to join ECG on this journey."
